Volleyball Recap: Jackson Prep Gets the Win

Jackson Prep's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Regents Lions. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Lions back in September, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

The win didn't come easy: Regents scored at least 22 points in every set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-22, 23-25, 26-24.

Mia Malone was nothing short of spectacular: she had 13 digs and five aces. Those 13 digs gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Jackson Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They are 16-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Regents' loss came despite strong showings from Greer Smith and Megan Ray. Smith had 24 digs, while Ray had 14 digs, ten kills, and four aces. Ray is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Jackson Prep's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Regents, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Jackson Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against St. Aloysius on the 14th. Regents has also already played their next matchup (against North Delta), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
