Basketball Game Preview: Roy Royals vs. Box Elder Bees

Roy hasn't had much luck against Box Elder recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Roy Royals will welcome the Box Elder Bees at 7:00 p.m.

Roy is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Bountiful, falling 67-46. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the RedHawks are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Box Elder didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Clearfield on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 57-51 win. The Bees haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Box Elder's win came from a few key players Roy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mayson Jeppsen, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jantzen Vranes, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points.

Roy's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Box Elder, their win bumped their record up to 5-17.
