Recap: West Rowan Falcons vs. Northwest Cabarrus Trojans
The West Rowan Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 52-42 to Northwest Cabarrus. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Rowan has scored all season.
Despite the loss, West Rowan still got an impressive performance from Will Givens Jr., who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Givens Jr. is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Deiondre Martin, who scored seven points.
Northwest Cabarrus got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Gonder out in front who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Anderson Lee was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
West Rowan has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Rowan will take on Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Robinson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South Rowan at 7:30 p.m. South Rowan is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses.
