Recap: McIntosh Chiefs vs. Northside Patriots
After a 57-14 finish the last time they played, The McIntosh Chiefs and the Northside Patriots decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. McIntosh fell to Northside 7-3. McIntosh lost against Northside in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 57-14 score last time.
Despite the loss, McIntosh saw an underclassman step up: Brandan Ridley gained 159 total yards.
Kingston Rivers was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
McIntosh's loss was their third straight at home , which bumped their record down to 6-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Northside, Northgate, and Central. As for Northside, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McIntosh will square off against Harris County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harris County is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. Northside will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jones County at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th.
