Even though Non Varsity Tournament Opponent scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the Mancos Bluejays still came out on top. Mancos blew past Non Varsity Tournament Opponent 83-55 on the road.
Brian Veach was a one-man wrecking crew for Mancos as he went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 1 assists. Another player making a difference was Andrew Jaime, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Mancos' win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 26-85 record this season.
Mancos won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Palisade at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent is on the road again on Thursday and play against Accelerate Christian at 5:45 p.m. on December 7th. Accelerate Christian is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
