The Chamblee Bulldogs's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cumberland Christian Academy and snuck past 57-54.
Chamblee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Simeon Stephens, who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Starr, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The victory got Chamblee back to even at 6-6. As for Cumberland Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chamblee will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Arabia Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Cumberland Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Atlanta Adventist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
