Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Beats Morro Bay for Their Third Straight Win

St. Joseph waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Morro Bay Pirates a 10-0 shutout. The Knights not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 14-0).

Connor Chanley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.

St. Joseph always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

St. Joseph's record is now 20-5-1. As for Morro Bay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.
