Basketball Recap: Maret Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

If Georgetown Visitation Prep wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Maret, they should've done a better job of containing Kennedy Austin. The Maret Frogs came out on top against the Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs by a score of 55-44 on Friday thanks in part to Austin, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 23 games she's played dating back to last season.

Georgetown Visitation Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alyssa Fitzgerald, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Madison Doerr, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 11 points.

Maret has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Georgetown Visitation Prep, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Sidwell Friends the next time they take the court. Maret will head out to face Sidwell Friends at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, while Georgetown Visitation Prep will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on January 21st.
