Basketball Recap: Pj Neason's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mildred over Grapeland

After flying high against Rio Vista last Tuesday, Mildred came back down to earth. The Mildred Eagles came up short against the Grapeland Sandies on Thursday, falling 78-52. The Eagles have struggled against the Sandies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Mildred lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Pj Neason, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Neason is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Moore, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points.

Mildred's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Grapeland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Mildred didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-56 loss against Canton on the 13th. As for Grapeland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-44 defeat against Tyler HEAT on the 12th.
