Soccer Recap: Rice Consolidated Takes a Loss

Rice Consolidated managed to keep up with El Campo until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Rice Consolidated Raiders lost 7-2 to the El Campo Ricebirds. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Ricebirds: they've now lost six in a row.

Rice Consolidated's loss dropped their record down to 9-5-2. As for El Campo, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rice Consolidated will take on Calhoun at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Rice Consolidated surely won't give up without a fight. As for El Campo, they will square off against Bay City at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bay City knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past five games -- so hopefully El Campo likes a good challenge.
