Football Recap: Overhills Jaguars vs. Leesville Road Pride
Thursday just wasn't the day for Overhills's offense. They took a blow against the Leesville Road Pride on Thursday, falling 40-0. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jordan Bryant threw for 54 yards on 11 of 17 attempts.
Deiondre Goldston had an outrageously good game for Leesville Road as he threw for 206 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Goldston is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Devin Goldston did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 70 receiving yards.
Overhills now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Leesville Road, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overhills will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Terry Sanford at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th. Hopefully Overhills focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Thursday. As for Leesville Road, they are taking a road trip to challenge Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Leesville Road knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 point or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Heritage likes a good challenge.
