Softball Recap: Robinson Comes Up Short

Robinson entered their contest against St. Joseph on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Robinson Senators fell 17-12 to the St. Joseph Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (11), the Senators still had to take the loss.

Robinson got a massive performance out of Mady Hokams, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Katelyn Welter also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Hokams wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Robinson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 8-2. As for St. Joseph, their record now sits at 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robinson will host Mills University Studies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Joseph, they will be playing at home against Cutter-Morning Star at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cutter-Morning Star will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something St. Joseph surely won't give up without a fight.
