Basketball Recap: Richmond Takes a Loss

After flying high against Almont last Friday, Richmond came back down to earth. The Richmond Blue Devils were dealt a 60-20 loss at the hands of the Armada Tigers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 503rd, while the Tigers are ranked 68th).

Richmond has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Armada and bumps their season record up to 17-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richmond will head out to face off against Marysville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marysville will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Richmond surely won't give up without a fight. As for Armada, they are taking a road trip to challenge Powers Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Powers Catholic is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Armada a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
