Volleyball Recap: Avon Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Avon took on Westport on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Avon's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-3. As for Westport, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Avon will welcome Seekonk at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Panthers' favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Warriors have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road. As for Westport, they will head out to square off against Fairhaven at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
