The Latta Vikings managed to keep up with the Allendale-Fairfax Tigers until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Latta suffered a tough 58-37 defeat at the hands of Allendale-Fairfax. Latta's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Latta lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amir Rogers. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The game was Rogers' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Jones, who scored four points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Latta bumped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Allendale-Fairfax, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Latta is on the road again on Friday and play against Dixie at 10:00 a.m. on December 22nd. Dixie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Latta in South Carolina (Dixie is ranked 59th, while Latta is ranked 279th). As for Allendale-Fairfax, they will head out on the road to face off against C.A. Johnson at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. C.A. Johnson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.3 points per game.
