Softball Recap: Cowanesque Valley Gets the Win

Cowanesque Valley's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Williamson Warriors 1-0. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won eight in a row.

Lilah LaBarron made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. LaBarron was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

LaBarron wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Woodring, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

The win got Cowanesque Valley back to even at 1-1. As for Williamson, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cowanesque Valley will face off against North Penn-Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Williamson, they will challenge Line Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
