Soccer Game Preview: La Feria vs. IDEA Riverview

La Feria hasn't had much luck against IDEA Riverview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The La Feria Lions will face off against the IDEA Riverview Rockets at 5:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

La Feria will bounce into Friday's game after beating IDEA Frontier College Prep, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. La Feria never let IDEA Frontier College Prep onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Friday.

Meanwhile, IDEA Riverview sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Rio Hondo on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won nine in a row.

IDEA Riverview hit Rio Hondo with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Andy Leal, Jaime Gaona, and Luis Polanco.

IDEA Riverview's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for La Feria, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

La Feria suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to IDEA Riverview in their previous meeting back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point La Feria was down 6-0.
