Basketball Recap: Memorial Comes Up Short

Memorial lost against Aldine back in January of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Memorial Mustangs took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aldine Mustangs. That's two games in a row now that Memorial has lost by exactly seven points.

Aldine got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jorge Castro out in front who posted seven points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Castro a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Jameson Kegler, who put up eight points and four steals.

Memorial now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Aldine, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 8-9.

Memorial will take on Cy-Fair in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th at. As for Aldine, they will square off against A&M Consolidated at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday.
