Soccer Game Preview: Hokes Bluff vs. New Hope

The Hokes Bluff Eagles will challenge the New Hope Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hokes Bluff is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Cherokee County just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 6-4 to the Warriors. One reason for the loss might be Hokes Bluff's aggressive play style: Isabelle Lancaster and Karson Bruce were both handed yellow cards.

Hokes Bluff hit Cherokee County with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Maggie Bray, Brylee Miller, Maliyah Applegate, and Bruce.

Meanwhile, New Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 4-1 to Cherokee County. That's two games in a row now that New Hope have lost by exactly three goals.

Hokes Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for New Hope, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.
