Soccer Game Preview: South Dade vs. Central

The South Dade Buccaneers will square off against the Central Rockets at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

South Dade will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Thursday, then bounced right back against Hialeah-Miami Lakes on Tuesday. South Dade put the hurt on Hialeah-Miami Lakes with a sharp 7-1 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Buccaneers' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Their offense was hitting Hialeah-Miami Lakes from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Angel Zamora led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2024, Central was forced to settle for a draw on Wednesday. They and Carol City finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw.

South Dade is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those ten matches. With that draw, Central's record moves to 1-5-3.

South Dade took their win against Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0. Will South Dade repeat their success, or does Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
