Basketball Recap: Sabinal Comes Up Short

Sabinal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Falls City Beavers and fell 65-25. The game marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Falls City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kain Jurgajtis out in front who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points along with eight boards and eight steals. Jurgajtis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Bordovsky, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Sabinal's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Falls City, their record is now 5-7.

Sabinal will look to defend their home court on Friday against D'Hanis at 1:30 p.m. As for Falls City, they will head out to challenge Legacy Traditional Basse at 1:00 p.m. on December 30th.
