There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the games was a one-point thriller between Homer and Seward.

The power rankings welcomes a newcomer to the scene as Homer earned the 24th spot after its strong showing last week. It can thank its lucky stars for its win over Seward. The final score was a hard-fought 21 - 20. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Homer after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between East (2nd in the power rankings) and West (8th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. East earned a pretty comfortable 27 - 7 victory over West. Nevertheless, East did not have enough punch to impress the power rankings algorithm and slipped one spot in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Lathrop (7th in the power rankings) and West Valley (6th). This will be the second consecutive road game for Lathrop. West Valley and Lathrop can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
