Basketball Recap: Ovilla Christian Takes Down Christ the King Cathedral in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ovilla Christian walked away with it. They blew past the Christ the King Cathedral Golden Lions, posting a 62-32 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

It was another big night for Lyric White, who went 6-for-12 en route to 16 points and seven assists. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Landon Rogers was another key player, putting up ten points and five steals.

Ovilla Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. They are 7-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Ovilla Christian's win bumped their record up to 23-6. As for Christ the King Cathedral, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season.

Ovilla Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 75-72 defeat against Holy Cross Catholic Academy on the 18th. Christ the King Cathedral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
