Football Recap: Fairborn Skyhawks vs. Tippecanoe Red Devils
Fairborn had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-1 to make it six. They took a blow against the Tippecanoe Red Devils, falling 55-7. The Skyhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-0.
As for Tippecanoe, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Fairborn is ranked 355th).
A big part of Tippecanoe's victory came down to the chemistry between Larkin Thomas and his top target Will Strong. Thomas threw for 275 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes while Strong picked up 171 receiving yards and four scores. Strong's longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards. Xavier Melton was another key player, gaining 86 total yards and a touchdown.
