Six must be Amity Regional's lucky number: they beat Greenwich with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Spartans didn't even let the Cardinals on the board, marking the Spartans' second-straight 6-0 shutout. Considering the Spartans have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Amity Regional's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Greenwich, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Coming up, Amity Regional will venture away from home to challenge Shelton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gaels' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Greenwich, they are taking a road trip to face off against Darien at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Wave will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
