Soccer Game Preview: Asheboro vs. North Davidson

Asheboro is 0-7 against North Davidson since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Blue Comets will host the Black Knights at 6:00 p.m. Asheboro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.

On Wednesday, Asheboro needed a bit of extra time to put away Central Davidson. Their defense stepped up to hand the Spartans a 2-0 shutout. The win was some much needed relief for Asheboro as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jaira Arellano and Gigi Flores scored both of Asheboro's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last five matches, North Davidson finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Grove. North Davidson's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

North Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Asheboro, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Asheboro suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to North Davidson when the teams last played back in May of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Blue Comets were down 4-1.
