Cam Hunt Crosses Big Stat Threshold

On Thursday, Hopewell got the W thanks in part to Cam Hunt playing the best football he has all season. Hunt rushed for 272 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (115.7). He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.

The win got Hopewell back to even at 3-3. Hunt and Hopewell will square off against Matoaca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lawrence Hewlett Jr. Delivers Best Performance of Season

On Friday, Prince George got the W thanks in part to Lawrence Hewlett Jr. playing the best football he has all season. Hewlett Jr.'s rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards dating back to last season. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.

The win got Prince George back to even at 3-3. Hewlett Jr. and Prince George will take on Colonial Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Effort from Dillon Newton-Short Leads Matoaca over Thomas Dale

Dillon Newton-Short produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Matoaca to the win on Friday. Newton-Short picked up 200 receiving yards and a touchdown. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 84 yards.

The victory for Matoaca keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Newton-Short and Matoaca will be playing at home against Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lebarron Black Ii Makes It Two for Hopewell

The second Hopewell player making an appearance here is Lebarron Black Ii, and for good reason. He picked up 72 receiving yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.

For the year, Black Ii has caught those 1 touchdown while averaging 43.8 receiving yards per game.

Matoaca Wins Sixth-Straight Thanks to Bryce Yates

Bryce Yates was instrumental in extending Matoaca's winning streak to six on Friday. Thomas Dale had no answer to Yates as he threw for 230 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown.

If the past is any indication, Yates could be in store for another big game when he takes on Hopewell on Friday. Yates picked up 136 receiving yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Blue Devils duked it out back in October of 2023.
