Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart-Griffin Takes a Loss

Sacred Heart-Griffin lost against Lincoln back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones lost to the Lincoln Railsplitters at home by a 51-37 margin.

Karson Komnick was the offensive standout of the matchup as he posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Drew Hayes, who earned nine points.

Sacred Heart-Griffin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-14 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Looking ahead, Sacred Heart-Griffin will square off against Normal University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln, they are taking a road trip to face off against MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with MacArthur sitting on three straight wins and Lincoln on ten.
