Recap: Copiah Academy Colonels vs. Tri-County Academy Rebels
This season hasn't been kind to the Copiah Academy Colonels, who are still winless after their eighth match. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 48-47 to Tri-County Academy. While losing is never fun, Copiah Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Tri-County Academy is ranked 92nd).
Among those leading the charge was Madye Bath, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Alisha Davis, who scored 8 points.
Copiah Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Tri-County Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Copiah Academy will head out on the road to face off against Laurel HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tri-County Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Carroll Academy at 6:30 p.m.
