Softball Game Preview: Sussex Tech Ravens vs. Smyrna Eagles

The Sussex Tech Ravens will head out to challenge the Smyrna Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Sussex Tech has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Sussex Tech's win against Woodbridge wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Ravens skirted past the Raiders 6-4. The Ravens haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Smyrna). They blew past Milford 17-3 on Wednesday.

The win got Smyrna back to even at 2-2. As for Sussex Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Sussex Tech couldn't quite get it done against Smyrna in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 10-6. Can the Ravens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
