Baseball Recap: Paint Branch Takes a Loss

Paint Branch came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Sherwood Warriors, falling 32-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 34-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Paint Branch saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolin Cockerham, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Paint Branch now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Sherwood, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

Coming up, Paint Branch will square off against Blake on Monday. As for Sherwood, they will welcome Magruder at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Colonels' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
