Volleyball Recap: Elkin Takes a Loss

Elkin came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Ashe County Huskies, falling 3-0. The Buckin' Elks have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Ashe County can attribute much of their success to Ali Conner, who had six digs and four aces. Those six digs gave Conner a new career-high.

Elkin's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Ashe County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.

Elkin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Murphy on the 18th. As for Ashe County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against North Wilkes on the 15th.
