Baseball Game Preview: Kelly Trojans vs. King Jaguars

For the second straight game, Kelly will face off against King. The Trojans will face off against the Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kelly is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.

Kelly had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt King on Saturday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 18-3 win. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Esteban Ibarra made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Ibarra was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kelly got a massive performance out of Gabriel Rojas, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Jorge Ortega was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Kelly pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for King, they moved to 3-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
