Volleyball Game Preview: Englewood Pirates vs. Platte Canyon Huskies + How To Watch

Englewood is 0-3 against Platte Canyon since September of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Pirates will host the Huskies at 11:00 a.m.

On Thursday, Englewood didn't have quite enough to beat Jefferson and fell 3-2.

Englewood wouldn't go down easily and took Jefferson into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 0-25, 0-25, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Platte Canyon had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Rams as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Platte Canyon took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-7, 25-12.

Platte Canyon's win came from a few key players Englewood will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cameron Martinez, who had five aces and one assist. That's the most aces she has posted over her last four contests.

Platte Canyon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 34 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Platte Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Englewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
