Recap: Wingfield Falcons vs. Lanier Bulldogs
The Wingfield Falcons lost against the Lanier Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Wingfield received a tough blow as they fell 56-42 to Lanier. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wingfield in their matchups with Lanier: they've now lost seven in a row.
Wingfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Martavius Bennett, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Tyler Arrington, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Wingfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-23. As for Lanier, their victory bumped their record up to 11-15.
Wingfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lanier, they will head out on the road to face off against Greene County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Greene County's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
