Baseball Recap: Rootstown Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lake, Rootstown was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Berkshire Badgers, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rovers have posted since April 14th.

Rootstown has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Berkshire, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Coming up, Rootstown will square off against John F. Kennedy Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rovers 3.4, the Eagles 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Berkshire, they will challenge Grand Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
