Softball Recap: 12 Straight Home Victories for Tottenville

Tottenville waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Curtis Warriors. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Veronica Broadbent spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Amanda Reyes was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Jakubauskas, who scored two runs and stole three bases.

Reyes wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Tottenville lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Tottenville's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Curtis, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Tottenville will take on Wagner at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Curtis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Street Campus at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
