Vardaman and North Pontotoc are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2016, but likely not for long. The Rams are taking a road trip to face off against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Vardaman's win against Shannon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Red Raiders on Thursday. Vardaman haven't had any issues with Shannon recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Pontotoc). They blew past Nettleton 11-1 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

North Pontotoc now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Vardaman, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Vardaman skirted past North Pontotoc 2-1 in their previous meeting back in January of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
