League recap: All Saints tops Oakridge to extend winning streak

Southwest Prep - North recap Oct. 3, 2012

All Saints extended the longest winning streak in Southwest Prep - North this week by beating Oakridge, 31-21. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.

Holland Hall took down Greenhill 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Matthew Merrick provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Cistercian bested Episcopal School of Dallas. He completed 12 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 30 yards. Merrick's favorite target this week was Kyle Rutledge, who caught four passes for 95 yards.

Johnny Garnett made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Hawks topped the Eagles. The senior pulled down two interceptions.

Dare Odeyingbo was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 167 yards on 35 carries as Cistercian beat Episcopal School of Dallas. Garnett also contributed to the rushing game with 62 yards on the ground.

Tyler Woolsey put up the best numbers through the air as the Owls fell to All Saints. He finished with five completions for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Woolsey's favorite target this week was McKinley Smith, who caught one pass for 54 yards.

On the ground, the Hawks' Odeyingbo has rushed for 747 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Charlie Reid. The All Saints star has 12 catches for 403 yards.

A big matchup in Southwest Prep - North this week will be when the Saints take on Clayton Sanders's team. All Saints is currently in first, while the Eagles are in sixth.

Cistercian led the league in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Episcopal School of Dallas. Merrick in the win.
