Roosevelt has gone 9-1 against Berthoud recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Roosevelt's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jack Cook, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 18 points. Brooks Reckard was another key player, putting up eight points.
Meanwhile, Berthoud was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 77-74 heartbreaker at the hands of Thompson Valley. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Eagles are ranked 124th).
Roosevelt will need focus on slowing down Wes Sullivan, one of several Berthoud players who made an impact when they last played. He went 9 of 14 en route to 19 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Sullivan a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Callies, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points.
Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Berthoud, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Roosevelt has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 27.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Berthoud struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
