Basketball Recap: Maddox Belino Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

Sachse posted their closest victory since February 9th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Independence Knights 53-50. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Knights back in November, they had to take a 50-42 loss.

Sachse got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddox Belino out in front who posted 11 points and eight rebounds. Those eight rebounds gave Belino a new career-high. Austin Young was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points.

Sachse's record now sits at 8-12. As for Independence, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Sachse wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-39 defeat against Plano on the 27th. As for Independence, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 95-23 win against Corsicana on the 28th.
