Basketball Game Preview: Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears vs. Colony Knights

The Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Colony Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Juneau-Douglas is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Palmer, who was ranked fourth at the time (Juneau-Douglas was ranked 24th). Juneau-Douglas fell just short of Palmer by a score of 66-64 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Colony, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Palmer, posting a 73-42 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 30 points or more this season.

Juneau-Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Colony, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Juneau-Douglas didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Colony in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 77-72 win.
