Baseball Recap: St. Charles Wins Going Away Against Westlake

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, St. Charles brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past the Westlake Wolverines 13-2 on Monday. St. Charles hasn't had any issues with Westlake recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Tyke Hunter made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kory Queen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. St. Charles is 2-1 when Queen posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-11 otherwise. Deandre Tyler was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

St. Charles hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

St. Charles' record is now 4-12. As for Westlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Coming up, St. Charles will host Great Mills at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Charles are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a six-game losing streak. Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
