Softball Recap: Grace Christian Extends Winning Streak to Six

Grace Christian came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over Northside Christian. Considering Grace Christian has won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylee Guillot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last ten games.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bella Acree, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Avery, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

Grace Christian pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northside Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Looking ahead, Grace Christian will be playing at home against North DeSoto at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. North DeSoto will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Grace Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northside Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Abbeville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
