With a playoff win on the line, Kouts rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Union City Indians 7-1. The Mustangs & Fillies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Landon Garrett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ben Finney, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May. Another player making a difference was Billy Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Kouts has been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season. As for Union City, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-12 record.

Kouts has already played their next contest, a 5-0 victory against Clinton Prairie on the 14th. Union City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
