Basketball Recap: Beau Suman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Moffat County

After only 29 points in their last match, Battle Mountain made sure to put some points up on the board against Moffat County on Tuesday. The Battle Mountain Huskies narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Moffat County Bulldogs 60-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since January 14th.

Battle Mountain's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Beau Suman, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 20 points. Those 20 points gave Suman a new career-high. Charlie Strauch was another key player, going 5-for-7 on his way to 12 points.

Despite the loss, Moffat County still got an impressive performance from Trayson Carlson, who went 6-for-12 en route to 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Carlson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Evenson, who posted eight points and three steals.

Battle Mountain's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Moffat County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Battle Mountain has already played their next contest, a 60-42 loss against Glenwood Springs on the 13th. As for Moffat County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-50 defeat against Steamboat Springs on the 14th.
