Moapa Valley has gone 9-1 against Virgin Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Pirates will square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Moapa Valley beat Pahrump Valley 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Moapa Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-17.

Moapa Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Dalley, who had 12 digs and four aces.

Dalley wasn't the only good servers: Moapa Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Virgin Valley got the win against Canyon Springs on Monday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won three in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-12.

Moapa Valley's record is now 10-19. As for Virgin Valley, their record now sits at 21-10.

Moapa Valley couldn't quite get it done against Virgin Valley in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
