Baseball Recap: St. Luke's Episcopal Drops Highest Score of Season Against Murphy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Luke's Episcopal). They were the clear victor by a 23-2 margin over the Murphy Panthers on Monday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

St. Luke's Episcopal got a massive performance out of Campbell Tillman, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Tillman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Turner Tillman, who scored five runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

St. Luke's Episcopal's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Murphy, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Looking ahead, St. Luke's Episcopal will challenge Clarke County at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clarke County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.86 runs per game on average), something St. Luke's Episcopal will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Murphy, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Blount at 4:00 p.m. Murphy has given up an average of 15.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
