Baseball Recap: Katella Beats Valencia for Their Sixth Straight Win

Katella won the last time they faced Valencia and things went their way on Thursday too. The Knights put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-3 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Vincent Aguilera looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kevin Reyes Mejia, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Isaac Sanchez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

The victory (which was Katella's sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Valencia, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-10.
