Football Recap: Spoto Spartans vs. Chamberlain Storm
Spoto proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 57) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chamberlain Storm , sneaking past 44-42. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 46-12 defeat the Storm walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2018.
Leading Spoto to victory were Nathan Richardson and Z'Orey Cotton. Richardson threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per attempt, while Cotton gained 212 total yards and a touchdown. Jaedyn Cartwright helped Richardson out on the ground, rushing for 87 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Spoto's defensive line and their five sacks. Everett's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Spoto now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Chamberlain, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.
